Spanish-English False Friend Words #1

Since a human being is able to articulate a limited number of sounds, it is inevitable that languages have many similar sounding words in their vocabulary. However, that does not mean that they share some similarities in terms of meaning.

For example, Turkish word “mama” means “baby food” but it has a complete different meaning in English!

Here, I found some Spanish-English words that are similar in articulation but different in meaning. I hope my Spanish friends (or Spanish-learners) like it! 🙂

Thanks http://mentalfloss.com/ for this great compilation!
